10.0 Conferences and Presentations in Ukraine – Introduction
Whilst many conferences taking place in Ukraine will have provision for participants who do not speak Ukrainian, this provision will vary considerably, and so it is a good idea to have sufficient language competence to be able to follow and participate in the proceedings in Ukrainian.
By working through Module 10 you will practise:
- reading and understanding information on applying to participate in conferences being held in Ukraine
- listening to and understanding conference programmes and arrangements
- composing initial drafts of abstracts of papers and articles
- the vocabulary and grammatical structures needed to understand the overall gist when people talk about their research and to present your own, in relatively straightforward terms.
