Exercise 2.3A
Using the prompts below give directions, in Ukrainian in the spaces provided, which will enable a colleague from Ukraine to get to your home from the airport. Before you do so you may wish to revise the use of verbs of motion, gerunds and imperatives (Pages 4.6 and 13.3 to 13.6 of Read Ukrainian!), as well as the vocabulary relating to directions given on page 2.5 of these materials. In each case click on 'show answer' to see a suggested response.

Once you have gone through passport control and retrieved your luggage, leave the terminal by the exit leading to the bus station.
Пройшовши паспортний контроль та отримавши багаж, вийдіть/вийди з терміналу через вихід на автовокзал.
You should board bus no. 303 and go to the city centre.
Вам/тобі треба сісти на автобус 303 та їхати до центру міста.
Get out at the stop opposite the town hall.
Треба вийти на зупинці навпроти міської ратуші.
If you don’t have very heavy luggage, you can walk from there.
Якщо у вас/тебе немає надто важкого багажу, звідти (звідтіля) можна дійти пішки.
Continue straight on in the direction the bus was travelling.
Ідіть/іди далі прямо в напрямку руху автобуса.
You will soon see an underpass. Once you go through you can see a small square.
Скоро (невдовзі, незабаром) побачите/побачиш підземний перехід. Коли пройдеш через нього, побачиш невелику площу.
On the right side of the square there is a white building with an entrance drive.
З правої сторони площі – білий будинок з під’їздом.
This is where I live, flat no. 21.
Тут я й живу, у квартирі номер 21.
It’s not far. You can walk from the bus stop in 5-7 minutes.
Це недалеко. З автобусної зупинки (треба) йти 5-7 хвилин.
