Exercise 5.3A
An academic from Ukraine on a visit to the UK has had his passport stolen in central London. He has contacted the Ukrainian Consular Section, who have advised him to report the theft to the police. He has asked you to help him, and you compile a list, in Ukrainian, of the information he will probably need to provide at the police station.
Give the following information in Ukrainian. Before doing so you may wish to revise cases of nouns (Read Ukrainian! pages 6.4 - 6.6 and Unit 7). In each case click on 'show answer' to see a suggested response.
List of information you may be asked to provide (not all the information is relevant to a Ukrainian passport):

surname and forename on the passport

They may ask you to sign a written statement

You will then be given a crime reference number (rather than a reference document, which the Ukrainian police issue), which you should pass on to the Consular Section.
Вам видадуть реєстровий номер злочину (на відміну від довідки, яку видають в українській міліції), який ви повинні подати до Консульського відділу.
