The convention on the protection and development of the Carpathians, the Carpathian Convention, was adopted 5 years ago in Kyiv by common agreement between seven countries: the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Ukraine.
This document set out the fundamental principles for co-operation between the parties to promote the balanced development of the Carpathians.
